I look back at 2019-20 and the one word that describes the year is ‘fantastic’. It has been a year of experimentation, trying new methods and modules, despite experiencing push back from some rural villages to return and repeat messages of social safety with social security it was fantastic. The team demonstrated more tenacity than ever to handle the push back and the challenges in the field and we found ourselves innovating to enter villages. As a team, we all held firm in the belief that deprived people should be left out. We need to reach every pepole in any way possible. This unified goal had such power that we exceeded our expectations by a considerable margin and reached out to over 50 persons compared sessions sharing that villagers remembered the economic safety messages. My heart swelled with pride, happiness and relief. It works. The model works and our content is appropriate. We embarked
on qualitative research and those results corroborate with these experiences. We will soon be publishing the study to tribal’s, Minorities women with the evidence. The year also saw us making an impression in the state community. Over the next 3 years we plan to advocate more strongly for policy changes at the local, state and national level to incorporate social protection of Tribals, OBC, Minorities & other weaker section of society, protection mechanisms, create long term partnerships with villages Mukhiya and NGOs to train and have a larger outreach to deprived section, digitalize all our materials for people to access from anywhere in the country and start building our Social Safety for scale. A huge Thank You to all our co-travellers; our donors, advisors, Board members, volunteers, well-wishers and interns for traversing a path with us that is not very easy.
